it's weird, but i don't like raven the most out of the titans. i like beast boy. it's really funky. i know raven is a tragic character, but i think it's much easier to mope than to actually try despite past experience, despite the odds. i think it takes real courage to plaster a smile on your face and race into the new day despite disappointment after disappointment. and best of all, i love his defense mechanism. jokes rock!

i know raven is strong, with a background like hers, she has to be to still be alive. she has to be empty of emotion. she has to be distant. but i think she's only fooling herself. you can't control how you feel. it doesn't work that way. you'll feel no matter what you do. you can't control your impulses. it's how you react to those feelings, those impulses that you can control.

starfire freaks me out. she's genuinely nice and genuinely good. she has a sh*t load of crap happen to her but she still hasn't lost her innocence and wide eyed wonder and curiosity. trust and optimism. the cynic in me can't stand her. seriously. he kind of shrivels up and dies a little inside whenever he's faced with her. then he throws a tantrum and raises all kinds of ruckus which really is annoying.

cyborg. big brother. kind compassionate and open. falls for a chick that's currently fossilized at best and a girl that was on the other side of the law. i like him. he's cool, but i was always into the more svelte mech designs myself. a leaner, meaner fighting machine. less bulk, more sleek. there is so much that you could do with a guy that's half machine. not only that, but the supplementation of his organic parts, not to mention the chemistry involved in keeping him alive, is gold mine for pseudo science.

robin always, unfailingly brings up an uncontrollable urge to rip things into pieces. something about him sets me off in a way that i really don't like. i'm sorry robin fans, but he does. i don't hate him, but i always, always like to see him squirm. i loved the episode 'Stranded' not because of the robstar elements of it, but because poor robbie was so out of his element. it brought me great joy and delight. something about him seems superhuman and we don't see him falling enough. he seems too /perfect/ and i can't stand that. i also liked 'Masks' and the 'Apprentice' episodes for that too.
